VCIU ENQUIRY RECOVERY
📍Cradock, Eastern Cape | 2021/10/02

At the crack of dawn on Saturday morning, Craddock K9 Unit, RGS and Crime Intelligence members responded to a Verified Navic.Cloud alert for a deep cloned Toyota Dakar bakkie.

The vehicle, suspected stolen, was inspected by the necessary Authorities at the SAPS Vehicle Inspection Unit.

The vin and engine details were visibly tampered with and eventually established as stolen in a Pretoria Central case for June 2021.

No arrests were made as the driver was an unsuspecting buyer; his statement was obtained by the Police and his vehicle was booked into the Queenstown pound.

We applaud the diligence from the ground and behind the scenes crew on this savvy stop and recovery.

POACHER PLUNDERS
📍Hermanus, Western Cape | 2021/10/02

Considered a delicacy in East Asian countries, a large quantity of Abalone was found in a vehicle travelling from Sanbaai towards the Onrus area in Hermanus.

The vehicle was stopped by Overstrand Law Enforcement members and an estimated R670 000 worth of precious Marine resources was recovered.

Also known as “White Gold'', the demand for this fleshy Perlemoen has soared; fueling a multibillion-dollar global export industry, and booming illicit trade from South Africa—plundering the Atlantic and Indian Ocean Sealife.

The single male driver was detained for the contravention of the Marine Living Resources act.
