FRAUDULENTLY TAKEN VEHICLE, RECOVERED 📍Muizenberg, Western Cape | 13/03/2022
A Nissan X-Trail that was advertised as FOR SALE on social media was taken in a Fraudulent Transaction in Villiersdorp, where the complainant received an SMS for payment, however, no money ever reflected in their bank account.
The vehicle was then flagged on Navic Cloud and picked up on ANPR cameras within the Muizenberg precinct. Mitchells Plain Cluster SAPS members went above and beyond to assist in stopping the vehicle and liaising with the Investigating Officer.
The family in the vehicle on the day of the stop, unfortunately also fell prey to these Fraudsters who resold them the vehicle, unaware that it was in fact stolen. The family was escorted safely to their residence, and the vehicle was seized and booked into the SAPS Pound for safekeeping.
Are you in the market for buying or selling a vehicle? Please make sure you do thorough checks; meet at your nearest Police station for the exchange or test drives; and remember, upfront cash is king.

A Warrant of Arrest was issued by SAPS for a female Fraudster on the run since 2018. The suspect vehicle was loaded onto Navic Cloud. After the vehicle triggered NAVIC™ cameras in Oudtshoorn, the suspect was found by Highway Patrol members.

The Provincial Navic Cloud has yet again proved its power.
ROCK LOBSTER RECOVERED 📍Vredenburg, Western Cape | 2022/03/11
In a joint operation between Navic Cloud, SAPS and Provincial Traffic members; a Ford bakkie travelling along the West Coast road was stopped by Vredenburg SAPS. The rear bed of the bakkie was filled with bags of West Coast Rock Lobster Tails.
Two male suspects were detained for the illegal possession of Marine Living Resources with an estimated street value of R120 000.
In a beautiful display of cross-border Teamwork, grit and determination; a Ford Raptor bakkie was recovered within an hour of being reported stolen.
Here's the short of it…
The complainant could not remember his vehicle's registration number, so the make/model and colour was furnished to our EC NAVIC™ Agent who then by the power of Navic Cloud, found the vehicle fitting the description. The owner then confirmed that it was indeed his vehicle and the hunt began.
Resources from Kirkwood, Jansenville, Uitenhage, Sundays River, Wolwefontein and many others were then alerted about the vehicle by our NNOC; and in partnership with SAPS.
The Raptor sped through two SAPS roadblocks but was no match for the strong blue line.
The vehicle was eventually stopped in Willowmore with one suspect detained.
Excellent results are achieved when everyone works together towards one common goal. #SaferCommunities for all.
