On Thursday, June 29, 2023, a Navic.Cloud Alert was issued, highlighting two vehicles linked to stock theft that were entering the Vredefort Road from Parys.
Based on gathered information, it was determined that the stolen livestock was being loaded onto the vehicles and the escape route was back towards Parys, then in the direction of Fochville. Consequently, waylay duties were conducted, and the suspicious vehicles passed through Parys before heading towards Fochville, where our members were waiting.
During a subsequent stop and search operation, six suspects were arrested. They were found in possession of 21 sheep, which were loaded into a Toyota Taxi and a silver Hyundai vehicle. These stolen livestock had originated from the Koppies district. Out of the total of 46 sheep reported stolen, 21 were successfully recovered, with an estimated value of R115,000.00. Notably, some of the suspects were already out on bail for previous stock theft charges.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Belrex issued a Navic.Cloud alert regarding a stolen vehicle from Vereeniging that had entered Denneysville. Acting on the information provided, Fezile Dabi highway patrol Shift A diligently followed up and successfully located and intercepted the vehicle near Viljoensdrift SAPS.
Upon interviewing the driver, it was alleged that he is the lawful owner of the vehicle and a complainant in the case. He further stated that he found his vehicle abandoned in the open area near Vaal Bophelong and was en route to report the matter to Vereeniging SAPS. The vehicle was subsequently booked in as evidence at Vereeniging VCIU.
No arrests were made in connection with the incident, as the circumstances surrounding the vehicle's ownership and abandonment are being further investigated.

On Friday, June 9, 2023, members of the Trio Task Team received information regarding a murder case involving the fatal shooting of a SAPS member on one of the Farm Roads in Pockleton, Cornelia.
The Trio members immediately proceeded to the crime scene to initiate their preliminary investigation and gather as much information as possible. Based on the gathered information, they were able to trace one suspect in Vanderbijlpark using the Navic.Cloud system. The suspect's vehicle was captured on footage at the Total Garage in Vanderbijlpark. Further tracing led the members to the suspect's residence, where they made a startling discovery of a cloned police vehicle and tactical gear.
As a result of their operation, two suspects were successfully apprehended. Additionally, the following items were recovered:

A vehicle suspected of transporting illegal abalone was registered and monitored using Navic.Cloud. Shortly after loading the vehicle onto the system, an alert was received indicating that it was heading from Gansbaai towards Hermanus. The alert was immediately distributed to all relevant groups for appropriate action.
Members from Overstrand Law Enforcement Rapid Response and K-9 Unit swiftly responded to the alert. As the vehicle entered Voelklip, the law enforcement unit identified it and signaled for the driver to stop. However, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into the old Demon Caravan Park.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered 40 bags containing 100 shucked abalone each, as well as 1 bag containing 108 shucked abalone. In total, 4,108 abalone were found in the vehicle. The vehicle was subsequently transported to the Hermanus SAPS station and properly logged.

On the 9th of June 2023, a vehicle with false license plates triggered Navic.Cloud cameras in Worcester. The alert was promptly shared with all relevant groups for necessary action.
SAPS successfully intercepted the vehicle at Touwsriver. One suspect was apprehended. Interestingly, this particular suspect had previously been apprehended by the same SAPS members at the same location three weeks ago, also in connection with a stolen vehicle. Congratulations to all those involved in the apprehension.
On the 8th of June 2023, information was received regarding a vehicle suspected of transporting abalone from Humansdorp to Port Elizabeth. As a result, the vehicle was flagged on the Navic.Cloud ANPR system for monitoring.
In the early hours of Friday, the 9th of June 2023, officials from Port Elizabeth Marine and Safety conducted observations near the N2 highway when Navic.Cloud alerts were received, indicating that the vehicle was traveling from Humansdorp towards Port Elizabeth. The officials spotted the vehicle and initiated a pursuit.
The driver of the vehicle eventually stopped and fled the scene, abandoning the car with the keys still in the ignition. Additionally, a cell phone was left behind, which has been seized for further investigation. An inquiry docket has been opened for the charges of possession and transporting abalone without a permit.
The G24 control room received a call reporting a truck hijacking incident that occurred on the N1 near Touwsriver. The caller provided a description of the vehicle involved, and SAPS requested assistance in determining if a number plate could be linked to the vehicle.
The G24 team immediately initiated a scan of all ANPR cameras in the area using the Navic.Cloud platform to locate the vehicle. Within 15 minutes, they identified a vehicle on the Navic.Cloud system that matched the description of the suspected vehicle. The information was promptly relayed to SAPS, and a BOLO alert was issued.
Members of the team continued to monitor the vehicle using the Navic Cloud LPR system, while keeping SAPS in Worcester, Rawsonville, Ceres, and Robertson informed. It was soon established that the vehicle was headed towards Ceres. SAPS conducted a search and located the vehicle, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Additionally, a blank gun was recovered during the operation.
DRUG DEALERS ARRESTED 📍East London, Eastern Cape | 2023/06/01
On Monday, May 25, 2023, members of the East London Tactical Response Team (TRT) reached out to a local security company for assistance in tracking a vehicle using the Navic.Cloud ANPR system. Based on intelligence gathered by the East London TRT, the vehicle was suspected of transporting significant amounts of narcotics.
The vehicle was successfully identified and registered on Navic.Cloud for alerts.
On June 1, 2023, the vehicle triggered a Navic.Cloud alert, tow which East London TRT took immediate action by conducting a tactical stop and search of the vehicle.
During the search, it was discovered that the vehicle was indeed transporting narcotics in quantities typically associated with drug dealing. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently detained.
Throughout the day, the East London TRT carried out extensive follow-up operations, leading to the apprehension of a total of two suspects. Additionally, approximately 1 kilogram of Tik and twenty Mandrax tablets were seized as evidence.

ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED

On the 13th of June 2023, one of the two vehicles associated with a robbery at a pub in Knysna triggered the Navic.cloud cameras in Robertson, prompting an alert that was promptly shared with all relevant groups to initiate appropriate action.
SAPS successfully intercepted and stopped the vehicle in Robertson. The vehicle was impounded, and two suspects were apprehended. They will be transported back to Knysna for further investigation regarding their involvement in the robbery. The following day, the second vehicle triggered the Navic.cloud cameras in Knysna, and the alert was once again disseminated for immediate action.
The vehicle was located in Concordia, Knysna. SAPS impounded the vehicle, recovered a substantial amount of money, and arrested two additional suspects believed to be connected to the crime.

ILLEGAL ABALONE RECOVERED

A vehicle suspected of transporting illegal abalone was registered and monitored using Navic.Cloud. Shortly after loading the vehicle onto the system, an alert was received indicating that it was heading from Gansbaai towards Hermanus. The alert was immediately distributed to all relevant groups for appropriate action.
Members from Overstrand Law Enforcement Rapid Response and K-9 Unit swiftly responded to the alert. As the vehicle entered Voelklip, the law enforcement unit identified it and signaled for the driver to stop. However, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into the old Demon Caravan Park.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered 40 bags containing 100 shucked abalone each, as well as 1 bag containing 108 shucked abalone. In total, 4,108 abalone were found in the vehicle. The vehicle was subsequently transported to the Hermanus SAPS station and properly logged.

ABALONE POACHERS ARRESTED

On the 8th of June 2023, information was received regarding a vehicle suspected of transporting abalone from Humansdorp to Port Elizabeth. As a result, the vehicle was flagged on the Navic.Cloud ANPR system for monitoring.
In the early hours of Friday, the 9th of June 2023, officials from Port Elizabeth Marine and Safety conducted observations near the N2 highway when Navic.Cloud alerts were received, indicating that the vehicle was traveling from Humansdorp towards Port Elizabeth. The officials spotted the vehicle and initiated a pursuit.
The driver of the vehicle eventually stopped and fled the scene, abandoning the car with the keys still in the ignition. Additionally, a cell phone was left behind, which has been seized for further investigation. An inquiry docket has been opened for the charges of possession and transporting abalone without a permit.

TRUCK HIJACKERS ARRESTED
The G24 control room received a call reporting a truck hijacking incident that occurred on the N1 near Touwsriver. The caller provided a description of the vehicle involved, and SAPS requested assistance in determining if a number plate could be linked to the vehicle.
The G24 team immediately initiated a scan of all ANPR cameras in the area using the Navic.Cloud platform to locate the vehicle. Within 15 minutes, they identified a vehicle on the Navic.Cloud system that matched the description of the suspected vehicle. The information was promptly relayed to SAPS, and a BOLO alert was issued.
Members of the team continued to monitor the vehicle using the Navic Cloud LPR system, while keeping SAPS in Worcester, Rawsonville, Ceres, and Robertson informed. It was soon established that the vehicle was headed towards Ceres. SAPS conducted a search and located the vehicle, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Additionally, a blank gun was recovered during the operation.

DRUG DEALERS ARRESTED

On Monday, May 25, 2023, members of the East London Tactical Response Team (TRT) reached out to a local security company for assistance in tracking a vehicle using the Navic.Cloud ANPR system. Based on intelligence gathered by the East London TRT, the vehicle was suspected of transporting significant amounts of narcotics.
The vehicle was successfully identified and registered on Navic.Cloud for alerts.
On June 1, 2023, the vehicle triggered a Navic.Cloud alert, tow which East London TRT took immediate action by conducting a tactical stop and search of the vehicle.
During the search, it was discovered that the vehicle was indeed transporting narcotics in quantities typically associated with drug dealing. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently detained.
Throughout the day, the East London TRT carried out extensive follow-up operations, leading to the apprehension of a total of two suspects. Additionally, approximately 1 kilogram of Tik and twenty Mandrax tablets were seized as evidence.
